This is the first time I did something using Celtic Challenges (Creative doodling with Judy West) template and I enjoyed very much doing this piece of doodling. I was  so "creative" and enthusiastic that I turned my copied tile upside down. Anyway, I got this. I love such templates, they inspire me. I found plenty of them there (copying allowed for personal use) and they are really fantastic!

Gneiss

This week I've been doing some isolated tangles just to make my line more controllable. I've also made several tangles, and must say I don't like them very much.  Hope my inspiration would be back soon.
For the Weekly Zentagle  I've drawn the Gneiss tangle. Actually two of them. And I'm not satisfied with any . I stuck to one idea - Gneiss in the centre of a tile, and couldn't move on. I know myself, even if I wait for couple of days, the initial picture in my mind, would sit and sit there.
So, in the first Gneiss Zentangle I used Grass Border, Antidots, Sugar Cane and Gneiss of course.
In the second one, I used Oke and some filler.

Swarm tangle

At first i didn't know what to do with thiis tangle. It looks nice, but  somehow it has never inspired me. I used it for the first time as a "variation added to Footlites.

Zendala Dare110

I wasn't so creative this week, but I am satisfied with a Zendala I've drawn. It is simple - I used just one tangle - Dutch Hourglass. The flower in the centre, is just a flower-like pattern, and I don't know whether it is on the official tangle list. I've tried several "decorative" variations for this Zendala on different sizes and  I didn't like it - tangles were lost in a mess of tangles! So, I decided to keep it simple.
I was tempted to check on what brilliant ideas had been already sent, but I resisted.  course. Otherwise, I might steal (unconsciously, of course) something I like... So, now when I post it, first thing to do is to go on the page and enjoy.

Be a part of a group

It is easier for a tangling beginner to work in a group and get some " homework" to do. You learn, get some ideas, see how and what other people do and I believe it all help to trigger your own imagination. I have followed the work of  "I am the diva" group for some time, and now I decided to submit my first zentangle to challenge # 235.
I used tangles I like very much : Smirkle, Beadlines, GarlicCloves, River Stripes, Hibred and Yew-Dee. And of course, shading - this is what I exercise on a daily basis!!!
So here it is:

The Bright Owl: Zendala challenge # 109

I am new in the tangle world. Thanks to the fact, I do not have so many patterns in my head I mastered and when I have a string it is easier for me to draw in zentangle fashion.
In this template-challenge, I used Nzeppel for the inside part of the string (mandala), and tangle Crease I saw on Tanglebucket studio video. In the very centre I draw a very small Loop. The litle diamonds - I don't know how to call the tangle I used for them. I did a lot of shading, because. I am actuall learning how to shade properly! It was a great joy for me.

So, this is how it turned out:

Back to Blog

Updating your blog asks for discipline. I do not say I do not have it, but I let some other things come into my way and focus mainly on tangling and doodling. That is why I decided to introduce some changes as to the content of my blog. Knitting and crocheting should go to another one.
